jamaejamae is a brand that primarily makes fabric bags, founded in 2026 by two korean sisters living in new york city. it started as a hobby of making one-of-a-kind bags from remnant and deadstock fabrics to give to friends and family. now that it has grown into a brand, we maintain the same philosophy and approach. 

our making process is slow and meticulous. it begins with selecting high-quality fabrics sourced from the garment district in new york city. each piece of fabric is then cut by hand and sewn one by one in seoul to preserve its unique character. the quantity of each design varies depending on the limited availability of the fabrics we use.

“jamae” means “sisters” in korean, reflecting the brand’s foundation in sisterhood, craft, and the connection between new york city and seoul.
